A Day in My Life

This is my street. There are only 9 homes here and there's a pond and a cul-de-sac at the end. This picture was taken this morning after the last child got on the bus. Look how quiet. On the weekends there are kids everywhere..riding bikes..playing baseball..ghost in the graveyard. I counted 27 kids ranging from 10 months to college age...and they all hang out together. It's really pretty cool.
Here is my house. As I've mentioned before..we've only been in the house less than 2 years. I know little about landscaping...but I'd really love to take the overgrown shrubs out and plant hydrangeas.
And here is what Griffin and I did today. He's still trying to figure out if he likes the beach....he better.

And here is my reward after walking him up and down the beach. Oh to sit in a beach chair on a gorgeous day with a sleeping baby next to you....I wonder if I can get away with doing this again tomorrow.

  1. Well, just knock me out. Girl...your street and home are unbelievably beautiful! It's so immature (of me) to be envious; but...
Then to be close enough to beach it. Aaaahhhhhh.

  2. Sleepy, kissy cheeks. So sweet!
Oh! Yes! Do that again everyday if you can!
Our cul-de-sac is also a huge playground in the afternoon and on weekends. Love it!
The quiet view is so nice, too.
Hydrangeas would look beautiful this time of year ...in your already gorgeous yard.

  6. You do realize my whole family is planning a visit... once we've become bosom buddies. It's all part of my master plan. I hope you're neighbours don't mind women who wear bright yellow unitards : ) Have a wonderful day at the beach. I may have to stop, stopping by, until summer arrives here.

  7. I want a detailed description of which window is which room. LOVE your house. I so live in the wrong state.
I wonder if you brought a book to the beach . . . sleeping baby, sun umbrella--perfect reading spot.
    I'm jealous.
    Any decision?

  10. Oh lovely pam- this time i am truely coming over- i think that every post - but these pictures and this way of life 'make my face ache from smiling'- my last resistence is gone and i am leaving the kiddos dinner in the fridge and getting on a plane...

in sydney our house is in a 'cul-de-sac' with endless kids ranging in age similar to your street- to leave it was sooo hard- our baby sitter {& her mum!} lived 4 doors away...the kids loved her.. the only difference being they were surrounded by gum trees that are grey green- beautiful- and not your luscious rich green- you would have had me in tears for home if it has been any similar...
have a lovely weekend- on fridays i'm doing the {this moment} post again- love you to join in...

  11. yes! rip out the bushes!!!! which way does your house face? i am guessing east! if so, you need to plant some rhododendron which would be blooming in next few weeks there! and some hydrangea, yes, yes!! (and then you can share your secret of how to grow em~i haven't had any luck). let's get some lovely roses and some very easy to care for daisies (summer blooming). your home is oh so lovely & so is mr. griffy!! hugs! i will soon be posting a tutorial on how to grow lovely flowers for less than 10 dollars!

  13. Oh Pam, your street and your home are lovely!!! I can totally see hydrangeas around the front of that house, beautiful!!! Ok, though, the best of all is sweet Griffin sleeping on the beach, absolute deliciousness, and the fact that you, Mum, got to sit out on the beach, and drink in that view with that sleeping Mr. Yummmy at your side, well, it doesn't get any better than that! What a blessing!!!
