A Few Things I Love About Paris

the cafe chairs..
beckoning you to sit, drink, read, write, and yes.. smoke,
but most importantly... people watch.

the doors...
(our new front door :)

no sneakers
and yoga pants.

the street lamps..

Paris est une belle ville.

April in Paris

Three days before we left for Paris
we were supposed to be going to Florida.
Unpacked the swimsuits
shorts and flipflops.
Packed the umbrellas, rain boots
and trench coats.

And we were off.
Now, I may have mentioned before..
I.Don't.Fly.
I told Steve when we arrived..
I love to travel.
I just don't like the traveling part of the travel.
Knock me out
and wake me when we get there.
But, if I have to fly,
and I will a lot more now,
then sitting up top this thing..
not so bad.

One of the few times we saw the sun.
The morning we arrived.
I'm not complaining.
I swear.

This trip was all about looking at schools
and apartments.
We told the kids
we want them to decide
which school they'd like to attend.

So, we toured the International School of Paris
and the American School of Paris.
Both excellent schools.
The two boys are pretty sure they
want the ASP.
Hannah is leaning towards the ISP.

Friday night we were invited
to have dinner with the family
that we will be replacing this summer.
Matt and Linda..
thank you!
We loved meeting your family
and touring our future flat!
I'm sure I'll be emailing you
every other minute with questions :)

I have many more pictures
and stories
but the laundry is calling.

Au Revoir!

I Hope Paris Likes Us...

...Cause we'll be tearing it up
over there for three years.

It was amazing.
I miss it already.
I think I ate..and drank
my weight in cheese and red wine.

I still can't believe that
in a very short time
I'll be calling Paris my home.

J'adore Paris!

We are flying to Paris!
To house hunt!

C'est la vie.

Few Things...

Steve was in Cairo, Egypt last week.
He brought this home...
 our Family Tree in
Egyptian Hieroglyphics.
It is printed on beautiful papyrus.
The birds represent each of us
and all of our names translated.
The crest on the top signifies
protection over our family.
I love it and can't wait
to frame it!

Will had a half day last week
so the three of us went into
Boston to the Children's Museum.

Always a fun day.

We love Arthur.

My treat after a long day
at the museum.
I love this bakery
Kicking myself for not
buying the cookbook.

Cafe Marly in Paris.
It overlooks the Louvre.
My sister in law Hilary
Steve, his mom
and me.
1997.

Looking forward to
sitting there again
soon!

Steve and I took Will with us
to see Les Miserables.
Exposing our children to the theatre
is so important to us.
Will loved it.
Steve and I had seen it
years ago
and we own the movie.
It is SO good!
If you can't see it live,
rent this or buy it.
The kids and I watched it
again last night.
I cry every time.
And for days I'm humming
the beautiful music.
