Things That Make Me Happy

Christmas books all over the house

And Christmas magazines...I keep them all.

Do you have Bananagrams? I keep them on our kitchen table and while we eat or the kids are waiting for dinner they make up a Christmas word. Things like "Merry Butt-head" aren't allowed.

Can't forget the pantry!

Drumroll please..."I give you our family Christmas tree" Steve thinks he's Clark Griswold..do you watch Christmas Vacation?  We do every year..along with Elf and Polar Express and Little Women...(the one with Susan Sarandon)...Have you seen The Family Stone? It was on tv the other night and I of course bawled my head off. What else is new. But, when Sarah Jessica Parker gave everyone a framed picture of the mom pregnant I just lost it. What a great gift idea for everyone in your family don't you think?

  3. I love all my Christmas books and magazines too but I have them hidden in a cupboard...I need to display them like you do!

And my husband thinks he's Clark Griswold too- at least twice he said while we were picking out our tree this weekend, "It's not goin' in the front yard, Brady".

  4. such a festive post! I'm going to save my Christmas magazines from now on. They're always loaded with great ideas. I am helping a friend decorate for a party & I just sent her the picture of your pantry. Brilliant to put the garland overhead. I think this would look fantastic over her dining room window. *and* I'm pulling out the bananagrams. I don't think they have ever played with them. I loves all your ideas! thanks Pam.♥

  9. I also loved The Family Stone ... you're reminding me I need to see it again! Elf and A Christmas Story are two more that I could watch over and over - along with the classics: Grinch, Charlie Brown, Rudolph, etc - I still love those! I love your stack of Christmas books with the silver baby cup on top - great idea!

  11. Just love Griffin hanging out in his diaper. My girl is like that 75% of the time. What will I do when it's no longer an acceptable outfit ??

  14. lol @ the griswold reference! bonus points for that one. :)
we LOVE bananagrams!!! seriously heart that game. had never thought of keeping it on the table or in a lovely canning jar like that. genius! mind if i borrow that idea? perhaps we'd play it more often that way. thanks in advance if that's okay.
we've got some massive Christmas books and movies going on around here too. we love elf as well and polar express! hadn't remembered little women this year. kudos on that one, since i have it in the non-holiday DVD binder. i'll have to dig it out. i even watch sleepless in seattle at this time (it's not just for valentine's day i think). same with meet me in st. louis. we also waaaaay love all the classics, especially holiday inn, white Christmas, the bells of st. mary's, but nothing says Christmas like bing crosby's voice. lol. have a great rest of your week!

  15. I LOVE Christmas Vacation...watch it every year!!!
I still cannot believe you remove all closet doors. That is asking for trouble in my house...but...your pantry looks fabulous. Maybe that's the secret to beautiful organized closets..no doors!!! :)
