Sandwich and Matthew Mead

This past weekend Hannah let me drag  her down to the Cape to this quaint little store..The Spotted Cod. It's in Sandwich..the town I grew up in. Matthew Mead was there for the day promoting his Holiday magazine. It was such a pleasure to meet him as I'm a big fan. I bought his Entertaining Simple book and love it.

The store was lovely also..very beachy as you'd expect on the Cape.

If you're ever on Cape Cod...visit Sandwich. It's the oldest town on the Cape and has beautiful beaches. It has a charming village with great litte shops too.

This is where Steve and I spent our wedding night...almost 17 years ago. I'm thinking of trying to steal away for a night on our anniversary in a week...anyone want to babysit?

  1. If i was closer I would babysit. Travis and I spent our second anniversary there having dinner. I was very pregnant with Ben and Nana was sitting in Onset:) I love Sandwich, especially the tea shop.

  2. Sure. Tickets are 59 each way on Southwest. Either fly me or fly the kids here. I'd send them home with oranges!

  7. I loved little towns like this when we lived in New York. Such history and warmth. Those little shops are the best, and I love the idea of returning on your anniversary to the spot where you honeymooned. Hope you find someone to watch the kids! Jen sounds like she's up for it & it's supposed to be 80 here this weekend-the kids would love it!

  8. I'm in love! We have a store that's all Colorado here called The Barn -- it's in a rustic barn and my girls and I adore it. Love cute shops.

  9. OK, time to admit it. I have been following since the beginning without the need to comment ... today I must. Having grown up in Sandwich (we were in the same class) you absolutely capture the feelings of joy that our little town gives in any season of the year. Thank you for the "snapshots" into your life, lovely and touching thoughts each post. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  10. hi Pam :) Love your photography here (again) :) with your trip with Hannah back to Sandwich... I love Sandwich too, and the beautiful OLD homes there. I KNOW you know you were so blessed to grow up there! :) Thanks for sharing some of the 'magic' of a little corner of Cape Cod. :) You (and Hannah, Griffy or any other members of your sweet family are always more than welcome to come by for a visit to Bluebird Cottage when you are visiting your old 'stomping grounds'... :) love ~ San
