stepping out of your box is not easy.
i'm doing that today.
oh..all week i've been,
"i'm going away,
i'm going away!
all by myself!!"
ok..well my train leaves
in a few hours
and i admit,
i'm getting a little nervous.
i just texted steve..
why don't you go instead,
i wrote.
his response..
GET ON THE TRAIN!
getting on a train
to travel to another country
alone is not what i do.
i stay home.
i cook,
i do laundry,
i take care of the family.
but i need to do this.
to prove to myself i can do it.
and to be alone.
something i never am.
i know it'll be good for me.
wish me luck.
:)
You will be just fine and might be surprised what you remember in yourself. Don't forget to breathe, not be afraid of the quiet and if all else fails, you can always pretend to be Ingrid Bergman or Audrey Hepburn! ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful, wonderful time.
Eh alors? How was it? :)
DeleteWe are all there with you in spirit, wishing it was our turn! Enjoy every second!
ReplyDeleteHave the best time, Pam! You will love it :)
ReplyDeleteDo you need me to fly over there and come with you??!! :)
ReplyDeleteI always feel the same way leading up to leaving the family for a few days. I get super anxious and want to cancel, but as soon as I walk out the door I come alive. We need it, and they need it too. I think my family always appreciates me more after I have been gone. Go get some good magazines, a new book, or download something fun and just enjoy the train ride. You will be so refreshed coming home.
No go have some fun!
Good luck!! YOu will do just fine.... enjoy yourself and come back renewed! :)
ReplyDeleteHave the most wonderFUL time, Pam!!!! I can't wait to hear all about your trip. That picture of Griffy is too cute.... xo

ReplyDeleteI am sure you'll have a brilliant time. I spent a couple of summers waitressing in London and my tiny bedsit was almost opposite the V&A. It's an absolute treasure trove - so much to see.
ReplyDeleteWishing you the best of luck. I am a new expat living in London and I am hoping to get up the nerve to travel alone one day and explore surrounding countries. I can completely relate to you. I hope you have an amazing time. Cheering you on. I will be heading to Paris this Thursday (for the first time -so excited!!) with family but I am hoping to do the trip alone one day and enjoy some "me time". You have given me hope - it can be done! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAnd she's off!
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of you Pam.
This will be a life changing experience for you.
You deserve and need this!!
when my husband and i were there years ago we stayed at The Hilton on Hyde Park. being new yorkers we were amazed at the fact the park had lawn chairs kept out all night and no one took them! lol i loved the city and remember my first thought being "i could live here" enjoy your time
