Simple Days

we've had some sunny but cold days.
griffy sleeps so well out in the fresh air.
listening to the sounds of the ocean.
today we listen to the rain pouring down
as we snuggled in bed reading.
dinner simmering in the crockpot
teapot whistling on the stove
i love being home.

  1. Sounds like a perfect day to me. My favorite image is the crock pot. The smell of dinner getting ready . . .

  2. Oh me too Pam! I've loved staying home this month and doing all those winter activities ... other than being ill-ish.

Thanks for the well wishes. We are so surprised but extremely excited. I feel like an addict who spent the last two years telling herself she will be okay and can make herself kick the baby love habit only to find myself back at square one :)

  3. I got all warm and cozy at the thought of reading in bed and the crockpot simmering away. The simple things are some of the best things about being at home during these fleeting years with little ones.

  4. I fee the same way. There is nothing more enjoyable than being cozy at home. Home is where the heart is.

  5. so so envious that you were indoors!! take it from me on what you would have faced out there ... sideways rain, puddles that could swallow a small child, tides that were threatening road closures - this was an EXCELLENT day to be at home ... add to that the tea kettle and crockpot? you had yourself the perfect day, friend ;)
