More Prom

My little family has been hit with terrible colds, coughs, fevers.
You'd think it was February.
I actually turned the heat on this morning as it was 42 degrees.
Isn't it the middle of May?
I never mind the rain.
It's my excuse to stay in my jammies all day with Griffy.

This is Hannah and her friend Sophie (sister to Stephen's prom date Emma)
They like to dress alike. :)
I'm going to bore you with more prom pictures.

I love this one of them.

So it's tradition here to "arrive" to the prom. Many kids show up in their dad's little sports car...and some kids get creative. Like really creative.

Presidential motorcade...

These guys had a dump truck pulling a flat bad that looked like a living room. (From the 70's)

They decorated their  jeep with paper money and started throwing it out to the crowd.

Love these!

Aren't they cute?

Don't you love how they're holding hands?

My date could pull me in a wagon any day.

Wow. That took some work.

This is a popular one here.

From the movie Up. :)

Tiki Hut.

And once they've arrived..they walk the red carpet. In front of the whole town.

I can't look at this picture with out crying.
Seriously!

  1. A prom parade that the town attends? What a fun tradition. And how fun is that to show off the guys in their tuxes and the girls in their gowns and dresses. I love it.

  9. omg, pam, we do the same red carpet, whole-town-watching thing up here on the north shore too!! And while there are a number of very cute entrances from the kids, these put ours to shame - sure, we have the boat/trailer thing (and a handful of horse/carriage) as I'm sure you can guess ... but the Nasa one?! And the flatbed/couch?! The tiki hut?! True genius - I love it!! Our kids need to get their A-game on before mine go to prom ;-)

  15. WTH, I don't even know you or your son and that picture brought tears to my eyes - that dress is even more beautiful from the back...and the look on the faces of the girls sitting on the ground and looking at your son and his date is priceless. I absolutely LOVE how your school does this - it really takes away any focus on drinking pre prom and funnels it in being creative and LOVE the red carpet - I wish our town had that tradition!
