Malta Part 1...

 Malta!!

How we just fell in love

with this country.

These pictures are taken from

our balcony.

We stayed at the 

Westin Dragonara Resort.

We arrived at the tail end of 

their busy season..

so we rolled the dice with the weather.

But..we lucked out with 

plenty of sunshine and 

really warm temperatures!

We arrived late Thursday night..

so Friday was a day spent by the pool.

Hannah spent this entire week 

(except for one day)..

studying for her ACT's 

that she just took this past Saturday.

I did walk around St. Julian's on Friday..

the little town we stayed in.

I am a sucker for shutters and 

colorful doors.

Malta is known for it's 

elaborate door knockers!

I could write an entire post

just with the door pictures!

We rented a car for the week..

which I recommend!

There are buses but we like

our autonomy when traveling

with kids.

First stop..

Mellieha bay..

There was a speed boat race 

going on.

Fun for the boys to watch but

no swimming allowed!

So we had lunch 

right on the waterfront at a 

great place called

Munchies.

From there we drove further north to

Armier Bay to swim.

Making our way back to our hotel..

we stopped at 

Popeye's Village.

The 1980's musical comedy

Popeye..

starring Robin Williams was

filmed here.

Now,this colorful village

is a theme park.

It was closing when we arrived

unfortunately.

So instead..

we quickly drove to

the Dingli Cliffs to watch

the sunset.

Tomorrow..

the Sunday fish market

and Golden Bay!
