We're In!

My new view!
I LOOOOVE our new
I can't believe how
quickly our family has
begun to feel at home here.

The apartment is furnished..
It's comfortable and livable
and if I were to ever own an
apartment here in Paris...
well, I think I'd want this one!

The location!
We knew we wanted to stay
in the 7th.
But..I also knew I wanted to
get a little further deeper into it.

And as far as missing the tower...
we still get to see her watching over us.
And I admit..
it's a nice change to see her from
this perspective.

This past week has been busy.
Moving in..
(we had much more stuff
than I thought)...
and making this place a home.

The kitchen is always the
first to set up when we move.
I have mouths to feed!
And this kitchen..
not only so very well equipped..
but sleek and functional
and now that I've added my own
it feels like home.
I'm excited to get cooking again!
My new outdoor market on
Raspail certainly did not disappoint
on Sunday either!
I'm hoping to someday catch a glimpse
of Ina.

the infamous farmers table.
By the way..
Catie, I think yes,
I do need to name her.
She has such a story!
I bought her a year ago..
sight unseen from a dealer in
Two friends had seen it
(Frenchlarkspur and Cat from Sunday Brocantes)
and sent pictures.
I bought it immediately after hearing
the details.
Cat graciously stored the table for a month
in her farmhouse in Normandy.
Her husband later delivered it to a
colleague of Steve's that
graciously offered to house it
at their house in the suburbs until
we moved.
Well, when we moved
last year...we moved into a
small furnished apartment and could not
use it.
Long story longer...
it was delivered yesterday.
After a year of owning it..
we finally meet and I love her!

(the delivery :)

Griffy the ghost.
He had a Halloween party
at his school last Friday.
(the kids are all on
holiday this week.)
He's with his little buddy and
two of his teachers.
He is loving  his school!

  1. etienne {love the name & it is a female version of stephen}

    i'm still looking, though.
maybe a name that means 'abundance' or 'full belly' : )

  2. other pretty sounding words/phrases befitting a beautiful dining table:
    rassasié {replete, satiated}
    beaucoup {plenty}
    lait et miel {milk & honey}

  3. Les Invalides is ACROSS THE STREET!!!!!! WOWZA!
My French brother-in-law always wanted to name a daughter Eglantine, but I think my choice might be Charlotte--after Charlotte Bronte.
    glad you're back

  4. It is always to much fun to peek into your kitchen to see how you make it 'home'... and ever since I 'met' you and loved your kitchen when you were in New England you have always made it so much fun to let us look inside. Glad that you are moved it... it certainly is a lovely view!!! Did you set up your coffee table yet with all of the books? I love that too! You could be a decorator! Happy new home! Just in time for the Holidays!

  5. What do you think of Joséphine in memory of Napoleon ?
Enjoy your holiday in the new apartment.

  6. Pam, I love your new views! What a wonderful apartment and I'm so glad you are already feeling at home. The table looks like it belongs there, and definitely needs a very traditional, old French name. Hmmmm...Griffin makes a great spooky ghost. Looks like this is shaping up to be a happy fall for you.

Say hi to Ina when you bump into her! :-)

  7. Looking forward to the rest of the tour!

  8. Happy to hear you are settling in your new place! I think I might melt if I bumped into Ina at the market. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure in Paris, it is a blast to follow along.

  9. Question for you: I see your KitchenAid mixer on the lower shelf and wonder, did you bring it from the US and use an adapter, or just purchase a new one that works there in France? We are moving from the US to France in April, and I'm trying to determine what to take/what to purchase there. We had no trouble with small objects that have built-in transformers (iPhone chargers, etc.) but I'm wondering about the bulk of transporting my stand mixer and other similar items. :) Thank you!

  10. Everything happens for a reason, right? It's lovely and the table is amazing!
