Finally

I haven't been able to get on my blog since Tuesday.
At first I kind of freaked out.
And then it was just a nice break.
I still can't get on using Google Chrome.
But I can with Safari.
Anyway...
This is Griffy's favorite spot in the house.
He loves spraying me and getting everything wet.

This was my view from my kitchen sink today.
Please don't look at the yard work that needs to be done.

I think summer is finally here.
Yesterday Griffy and I went to the beach.
We brought lunch.
It was the best day.
I'll always remember it.
:)

Around the House

I don't iron. Or polish.
When my mom comes to visit she does those things for me.
But really I prefer a basket of un-ironed napkins.
We don't use paper napkins.
But I do use paper towels.
I'm not ready to give those up yet.

I do use my re-usable grocery bags!
And now I use veggie bags instead of the plastic ones at the store.
My friend Catie told me about these bags.
I bought a few of them and I'm hooked.
Next on my go green list is re-usable ziploc bags.
I use a million of them a day in lunches!

Steve's lunchbox.
It's called a tiffin.
Isn't it cute?
3 stackable containers.
Can't you picture me kissing him goodbye in the morning on his way to work and saying "don't forget your tiffin!"
(I got it at Whole Foods)

Dinner.
Chicken enchiladas
Mexican chopped salad
Corn bread

Library books

This was in my mailbox yesterday.
Addressed to Steve and I.
From Hannah.
I think she's trying to tell us something.

Today Around the House

I love this tea.
And I love the tin it comes in!
I keep all my tins.
Maybe someday I'll host a tea and use them to decorate.
Wanna come?

You know I love my Mrs. Meyers.
The geranium candle is the best!

Dinner last night.
Ina's lemon chicken again.
So good with couscous and green beans!

When everyone is sick I really scrub the house.
I love how my house smells after cleaning the floors with Murphy's oil soap.
And really love all the Method cleaners for granite, stainless and wood.
They smell good too!

Have you tried these?
They are so good and contain all good stuff.
I bought mine at Whole Foods but found them at a speciality grocery store too.
Shake them up before you freeze them.

Here's What I Wore Wednesday..

More Prom

My little family has been hit with terrible colds, coughs, fevers.
You'd think it was February.
I actually turned the heat on this morning as it was 42 degrees.
Isn't it the middle of May?
I never mind the rain.
It's my excuse to stay in my jammies all day with Griffy.

This is Hannah and her friend Sophie (sister to Stephen's prom date Emma)
They like to dress alike. :)
I'm going to bore you with more prom pictures.

I love this one of them.

So it's tradition here to "arrive" to the prom. Many kids show up in their dad's little sports car...and some kids get creative. Like really creative.

Presidential motorcade...

These guys had a dump truck pulling a flat bad that looked like a living room. (From the 70's)

They decorated their  jeep with paper money and started throwing it out to the crowd.

Love these!

Aren't they cute?

Don't you love how they're holding hands?

My date could pull me in a wagon any day.

Wow. That took some work.

This is a popular one here.

From the movie Up. :)

Tiki Hut.

And once they've arrived..they walk the red carpet. In front of the whole town.

I can't look at this picture with out crying.
Seriously!

May-hem

This month is nuts. We just have so much going on in our lives...I'm ready for it to slow down. Last night  we had 2 baseball games on either side of town, ballet, the variety show at the middle school, picking up the Tux. Stephen is going to the prom this year with his good friend Emma. How can I have a kid in diapers and one going to the prom? And I'm sorry..but we always referred to the prom as THE prom. Not just prom.

Dinner last night... I made these roasted tomatoes from the cookbook Fast, Fresh and Green that I got for my birthday last year..(thanks Roxie!)...man, do they make your house smell good. We had them over pasta and as a crostini topper with my homemade bread.

Hannah's violin recital Thursday night...

May is crazy.
I don't think June will be much lighter either until school gets out.

And I really should be backing up my blog.
Someone just said that to me the other day and within hours blogger was down.
Just one more thing on the to-do list.

Today Around the House

Griffy and I went to Whole Foods today.
Is it weird that I could walk around that store all day?
We also went to the bookstore.
I could spend hours in there too.
Finally got Simplicity Parenting which I've been wanting to read.

Then Griffy took a nap and I made the Jordan Marsh Blueberry Muffins.
If you are from New England you remember Jordan Marsh.
It's now Macy's which is a total bummer I think.
I remember going to downtown crossing in Boston with my Nana when I was little.
Jordan's had a bakery on the first floor and these are the best blueberry muffins ever.

I'll put the recipe on my cooking blog.

Dinner...I make this a lot for lunch on the weekends but had some extra grilled chicken in the fridge so thought I'd make it into a meal. Cuban rice and beans in a wrap. I'll put the recipe on my cooking blog. So easy and great for leftovers in the lunchbox the next day.

I know. I'm a bad mother for posting this. Seriously, the kids hands are either down the back or the front.
All. Day. Long.

:)

2:15...nice long nap. :) see the crib? Has not slept 5 min. in that thing. Why is it still up?

3:15...outside. Rainy and cold.

4:15...does anyone have this? I think I want one for the summer. We love our ice cream maker but this looks so cute!

5:15...the witching hour.

I told you you'd be bored. That's my Tuesday. :)
