Hannah's Portrait and Bucket Lists

A dear friend of mine sent me this painting of Hannah today. I can't draw a stick figure so I'm in complete awe of artists. And having it come from a friend makes it even more special. I'm amazed at how beautifully she captured Hannah. Freckles and all. Thank you Dianne. You know how much I will treasure this.

While Hannah and I were driving home late this afternoon...picking up yet more ballet supplies..she started talking about her Bucket List. 12 year olds have Bucket Lists? I don't even have one! So, Hannah wants to skydive, bungee jump off the Eiffel Tower, meet Nick Jonas, and snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef. I started thinking about what I want to do. And I don't know!!! Seriously, how sad is that? The only thing I came up with is that I'd like to learn how to play the piano. Hannah thought that was really lame. I guess it is. Does that mean I'm just really happy with my life right now? If I died tomorrow I'd die a happy girl.

What's on  your Bucket List?

  1. When you read that 1000 Gifts book you'll see that the idea is to be happy "right where you are". So it sounds to me like you have achieved that goal already! You're such an inspiration to me :) I also don't have a bucket list. I think maybe because I have a hard time picturing myself ever being free enough to go places (or having the money to do it). Or maybe I'm just happy too? IDK. Love the portrait!

  2. That is a beautiful gift, I'm not artistic either, so I truly admire those you can share their gifts of beauty with us. YOu are so lucky to have such a friend! I don't have a bucket list either, I always figured I was too boring, but I like your explanation & Amy's way better.

  4. No bucket list here either, seriously nothing to put down on one ... it's funny because we were talking about this the other night at dinner and I said the same thing - I could die right now and it would be fine - I hope we're not losers! ha ha. Yep, everyone else was going skydiving and things. Not me. I could care less. I just think we're happy and settled. And, simple at heart.

  5. Bucket list of one:
See the David in Florence. Then I can die happy. That's not too much to ask, is it?

  6. aha, there's my cheetah chair again - love! Love the painting even more ... been thinking of asking an artist I know (not well - friend of a friend) to do a similarly sized painting for each of mine - this post serves as motivation ... my giant to-do list has just grown one line longer!

BTW, I guess I'm just as lame as you are, sister ... no bucket list :-( Gotta change that!!

    This painting is so adorable.
Our Artist friend did a great job!
No bucket list for me either.....I'm sure I will think of some things once I get to that middle age crisis stage!
